<h2>Exhibition Statement</h2>
<p>
Although the DUNG30N does not
prescribe a singular thematic
focus, this exhibition
operates through the
conceptual framework of an
‘Error 404 — page not found’
condition. It functions as an
inquiry into the perceived
instability and fragmentation
of contemporary social,
political, and informational
systems. In this environment,
power structures appear
increasingly opaque, previous
platforms fail, are erased or
redirected, and provisional
solutions are continuously
substituted for structural
repair.
</p>
<p>
ERROR_404[sidequest] asks
critical questions about
artistic agency and
communicative efficacy. What
is the role of artists during
periods of systemic
uncertainty, cultural
dissonance and collapse? How
do artists operate when
dominant modes of
communication and connection
are interrupted,
oversaturated, manipulated,
distorted, or ignored?
</p>
<p>
Rather than proposing
resolution, the works
gathered here engage in acts
of rerouting. Each DUNG30N
DW3LL3R undertakes a
conceptual “side quest,”
employing the dungeon’s
shared lexicon as both
constraint and generative
tool. By bringing together
artists from diverse
backgrounds and practices,
the exhibition constructs new
links and alternative
networks. These connections
do not eliminate the glitches
of the present moment, but
instead acknowledge them as
conditions to be navigated.
In doing so, the DUNG30N
positions this work as a
practice capable of forging
new relational
structures—temporary,
embodied, and
speculative—within a
landscape defined by
continual error.
